Curriculum Development

Independent schools should have independent curricula, but the journey away from the known “big box” AP or IB to something unique can be arduous and risky. Having worked closely to transition a traditional boarding school to a fully independent, dynamic curriculum from course design to strategic communication, I serve as a partner for schools looking to angle their value proposition in an increasingly competitive market.

Strategic Communications

Independent schools are confluences of different narratives that congeal into one, the school’s narrative. With extensive experience in writing, editing, and storytelling, I assist schools in articulating their stories and effectively communicating with audiences for a wide variety of purposes. 

diversity, equity and inclusion practices

Schools should welcome and affirm all those who become part of their communities, but the work of inclusion in spaces that have traditionally been exclusive is difficult. I offer support to schools looking for “blind spots” in their programming, policies, and practices in order to best welcome the widest range of experiences and perspectives.

Having lived, written, taught, and worked extensively on issues of inclusion related to gender and sexual diversity in independent schools, I work with schools to build vocabulary, awareness, and affirming practices that celebrate LGBTQIA+ students, faculty, staff, alumi/ae, and families.
